The municipality of Campo counts 2.000 inhabitants and was founded in the year 1894 when it separated from the one of Marciana Marina. In fact, Campo still carries the divice, the tower, of Marciana in its municipality armorial bearings. Thanks to its long sandy beach (2 km), Marina di Campo developped the tourist industry earlier and quicker as all the other municipalities of the island. The Tower of Marina di Campo, built during the Medicis period.
The Church of S. Nicolò, S. Piero in Campo. This church was built on the remainings of an old roman temple dedicated to the god Glauco.
